Guidelines

One objective of the NZSHS is to promote high standards of clinical practice in sexual health via the development of best-practice guidelines.

We recognise the importance of these guidelines being inclusive and relevant to all, regardless of sexuality, gender identity or expression.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the information in these resources is correct at the time of publishing.

The New Zealand Sexual Health Society recognise the importance of these guidelines being inclusive and relevant to all, regardless of sexuality, gender identity or expression. Although gender inclusive language has largely been used, where references are made to ‘male’ or ‘female’, this refers to cisgender men and women; management of transgender and non-binary people should be anatomy-based. However, we recognise that transgender people also identify as male or female, and that gender identity is distinct from genital anatomy.
