What does a comprehensive sexual health screen actually involve, and how can we make testing safe, accessible and affirming for the communities we work with?

This practical webinar will explore the different types of STI tests, their sensitivity and limitations, and why testing different anatomical sites matters. Suzanne will explain when and why samples may be taken from the throat, rectum, genitals, urine or blood, while addressing common misconceptions about what a sexual health screen does, and does not, involve.

The session will also look beyond the tests themselves to how we talk about and deliver sexual health screening, including respectful and body-positive language, explaining swabbing and testing clearly, and creating culturally safe and non-stigmatising experiences.
